Bad Credit Credit Cards - Things To
Consider Before Applying For One
Having a bad credit rating happens to a
lot of people for a variety of reasons, such as being unable to pay your bills on time or
having a county court judgement against you, but whatever the reason, it is still possible
for you to get credit should you need it or want to use a new card in order to rebuild
your credit rating. One thing you can do to help your credit rating is to make sure you
are registered to vote, as this is looked at by credit companies and it is in your favour
if they can find you on the electoral register. Also if you do get yourself a bad credit
credit card, make sure that the cardholder address you give matches the address you are
registered to vote.
The biggest disadvantage of getting a bad
credit credit card is that you are usually given a very high interest rate which is a
reflection of the higher risk involved for the credit card company dealing in bad credit
credit cards. However if you look after your account well, in time you should be able to
get a credit card with a lower interest rate. Another thing to consider is that a lot of
the bad credit credit cards charge an annual fee, which you don't normally pay these days
with standard credit cards.
