Electricity Savings - Ways To Save Money On Your Electricity Bill Each Year

Here are some simple ways to reduce the amount of your hard earned money that goes on your electricity bill every year.

1. Do not leave any electrical items such as TV's, Videos players, DVD players, music systems etc on standby when you are not using them, instead switch them off and you will reduce your electricity bills by a small but worthwhile amount each year. All you have to do is get into the habit of switching things off instead of using the remote control, hey and the exercise will do you good!

2. Make sure you turn lights off when you leave a room, saving you some more wasted electricity and a little money to boot.

3. Use your washing machine on the economy setting if it has such a setting on it.

4. Use the power saving facility on your desktop computer and laptop so that your monitor switches off after a few minutes when you are away from it, which not only saves you electricity and a little cash but also lengthens the life of your computer screen as well.

5. Switch your electricity to a cheaper electricity supplier. This will most likely save you the most amount of money, although you can of course do all the other things as well to get the maximum amount of cash savings. If you have never switched supplier before then you may be able to save up to 25% off your electricity bill.

6. Pay your electricity bill by direct debit as you can save up to 10% paying this way.

7. It is not always the case that having both your electricity and gas supplied by one company is the cheapest way to get your electricity and gas. It is best to shop around and you may find you can get your electricity and gas even cheaper by having separate suppliers for each.
