Water Savings - Ways To Save On Your Water
Bills & Your Water Consumption
Unlike gas and electricity services, you
cannot switch to a different supplier to reduce your bills as there is no open market for
water, however you can choose whether or not to have your water usage metered or not.
Depending on your water usage, you may be able to save some money on your water bills by
having a meter fitted, which if you did decide to do, it would be fitted for you for free.
So how do you know whether you would save money with a meter or not? Well very generally
speaking if you have fewer people living in your home than the number of bedrooms you have
in your home, then you might save some money by having a water meter fitted. In order to
work it out for sure, contact your water company and they will post you a table to help
you work out if you would save or not.
Once you have a water meter fitted you can
go back to unmetered water within the following 12 months or within a month of getting
your second metered bill if that is later than the 12 month period.
Here are couple of ways to save on water
consumption:
1.Take a shower instead of a bath which
uses up to 40% less water.
2. Switch off the tap while brushing your
teeth.
