Making A Will
- Why It Is Important To Make A Will
Here is an interesting fact - over 70% of
the UK population have not made a will. Make sure you are one of the people that does make
a will because if you do not have a will then you will have no say in who will inherit
what you leave behind. If you do die without having made a will, then you will die
"intestate" and this means the government will divide up your wealth between
your surviving family members by following a set of government rules. Worst of all, if you
do not have any family members to pass the money on to, then all your money goes to the
government when you could have had a will that would have passed the money on to your
close friends, charities or other people of your choosing instead of the state.
It is not hard to make a will, you can use
a will writing service or contact a local solicitor which for around £150 would be able
to draw you up a will.
