About Will
Writing Services & Things To Consider When Making A Will
Writing a will can be straight forward if
your affairs are not complicated and there are lots of will writing services which are
available on the internet that you could use or you could simply buy a will writing kit
from a stationery shop for around £10. However if your affairs are complicated or you
want extra peace of mind then you might want to go to your local solicitor and have them
draw you up a will.
Here are some things you should consider
doing when making your will:
1. You should name two people as executors
of your will who will deal with your estate after you die. The reason you need two
executors is in case one of the executors dies before you do. You could choose to have the
beneficiaries of the will has your executors of the will or have your solicitor as an
executor.
2. Make it clear in your will who gets
what by making a detailed list.
3. Get two people who are not
beneficiaries of your will to witness you signing the will (they do not have to see the
contents of the will just see you signing it.)
4. Make sure you keep your will somewhere
safe and tell your executors where it is. Alternatively you could keep it at the local
probate registry which would cost you around £15 or take it to your local solicitor or
bank.
5. You should review your will every few
years to make sure you keep it up to date as your life circumstances change.
